Landscape and cloud art
More than 300 visitors at the opening of the "bewegten winds 2018
Zierenberg / Habichtswald. Not a cloud in the sky - but a lot of cloud art between heaven and earth: The opening of the 9th wind art festival "bewegter wind" last Sunday attracted more than 300 visitors to the communities Habichtswald and Zierenberg. In bright sunshine and light wind, curator Reta Reinl and 64 artists from 21 countries presented this year's works to the press, sponsors and visitors. "We are delighted that so many guests took the opportunity to get to know the artists during our opening tour. Because their explanations open up a special access to the works and their backgrounds", reports Reta Reinl. And she adds: "This is particularly worthwhile because our central theme 'clouds' has generated such complex ideas: From childishly naïve cloud gazing to purely meteorological observations to criticism of global environmental policy, there are many aspects to be discovered in cloud art!

Special prize "NAGUAL - Moved by the wind", performance by Adriano Cangemi (Argentina)
For his impressive performance on Sunday, 26 August, the jury will award a special prize to Adriano Cangemi. In his approximately 25-minute performance on the Katzenstein, he congenially combined elements of acrobatics with narrative-performative aspects.
2nd Prize, split: " ... clouds over ... " by Heinz Schmid (Switzerland)
What makes looking at the clouds so fascinating? One reason is probably the constant change of the celestial formations, which creates a lot of room for fantasy and illusion. And just as clouds are constantly changing in correspondence with wind and scenic backdrop, the object ensemble by the Swiss artist Heinz Schmid is also highly dynamic and fascinating.
2nd Prize, split: "2202m" Video by Irena Paskali (Macedonia)
The work of the artist Irena Paskali moves in the field of tension between freedom and limitation: In her video double projection she deals with the political question of global migration - and shows a filmic stocktaking of the EU border situation of her home country Macedonia.
1st prize: "The suspension bridge in the cloud" by Aleksei Dmitriev (Russia)
A wooden sculpture, fragile and fascinating: the artist Aleksei Dmitriev collected branches and twigs in the Dörnberg nature reserve and created a sculpture from them. Its form appears as if it had been poured into the landscape - and offers the observer a constantly new impression from every perspective and from the most varied distances, both far and near.

NAGUAL - Moved by the wind
Physical and aerial theater, a performer on a long pilgrimage through different manifestations of a body in conflict. A performance without words with a focus on the performers physical limits, his meeting with the audience, the space, and live music. We start with the death of an old sorcerer, who then begins his search through, the freedom of wind, an encounter with darkness, and the cycles of life and death in hopes of finding himself.
Musical Kites : Sounds From The Clouds
For centuries, kites have been equipped with instruments and raised into the air as singing voices so that they come into contact with the "irrational" or "sublime". Not only the physical tubes and pipes, bells and strings produce these sounds, but also the vibrations in the rope with which the kites are pulled and released play a role. Kaspar König and Ton Oostveen are experimenting with ways to create sounds of wind driven instruments which, with the help of modern technology & materials, finally come together to create a top class sound play. This can lead to a unique composition and give a new, airy touch to a long and old tradition. A group of 5 to 6 kite climbers will bring the 5-6 flying instruments into the air. Kaspar König realizes his score with the sounds of the dragons and the flying instruments of Ton Oostveen. Both are supported by Harold van Ingen with his specially developed electronics.

"looking for a place ... "
Clouds pass by, the sky is free, and how can you experience this? The artist goes looking for a place, which place is "good", does "good", is the right one to look at clouds, to feel free space and boundaries, she checks the place, lies down and looks up at the sky ...
CubeClouds
from 15 x 15 cm / 60 x 60 cm / 130 x 30 cm
The absurd placement of sculptures in the sky frees the viewer from the cumbersome attachment to earth and time and ironizes the cosmic-religious shudder of the usual reception of art. The idea of freedom and originality is taken to extremes. This unusual perspective creates a new world of experience, changes the perception of space and time and refers to transience and contingency before the vastness of space.
The pictures and videos have been realized with techniques and tools, some of which I developed myself beforehand. Among others, techniques from model flying and Kite-Aerial-Photography (KAP) were used. These techniques were modified and developed by me in such a way that they enable me to go up in the air with my sculptures and drawing tools.
Since I have not found anything comparable so far, I have summarized the techniques, sculptures and pictures under the term "KunstFlug". None of the photos and videos have been post-processed.
