Wind is a symbol of spirit and communication in almost all cultures of the world.
"bewegter wind" stages wind art in this multifaceted landscape. Wind art is fleeting, can always be experienced anew and remains unfinished in a fascinating way. At various locations - in front of forests, high-altitude landscapes, lakes or quarries - objects are created that make the wind visible and allow it to merge with the art.
The international wind art festival takes place as a competition every two years at changing locations in the region. "bewegter wind" is a landscape exhibition with a supporting programme, art competition, artists' meeting, cultural exchange, exhibition tour and children's programme.
The 11th wind art festival "bewegter wind" will take place from 13th-27th August, 2023 in Wolfhagen.

Walking in the footsteps of art
Forty-five art objects which, in interaction with the wind, create new perspectives on the landscape - and at the same time stimulate further thinking around the theme of "Change?!" - change: The 10th International Wind Art Competition "bewegter wind" has attracted several thousand art and nature lovers from near and far to Hofgeismar and Liebenau. On Sunday, 29 August 2021, the popular outdoor festival came to an end with the award ceremony for five outstanding works of art. In addition to wind art installations, nine videos and performances were shown. At the end of the successful art festival, curator Reta Reinl drew a positive conclusion: "For two weeks, forty-five artists* from all over the world showed their works on the Kramberg and in the Diemel Valley and thus initiated an exciting dialogue on climate change. We are very happy about the great response - not only from visitors, but also from participating artists and all supporters. We would like to express our sincere thanks for this."

10th wind art festival "bewegter wind" 2021 – Change ?!
ow to make a selection, when all artists have already won by being juried into the 10th bewegter wind exhibition? The most important prize is certainly "to be seen" and to give voice to one's own view of the subject through one's work. This, it should be noted at this point, has been quite successful, because the number of visitors to the plein air art festival proves that the show has now made a name for itself.
The artistic positions testify to idiosyncratic perspectives, to surprising ideas, but also quite simply to craftsmanship. This not only provided us - the prize jury - with a basis for discussion, but also presented us with difficult decisions.
In a way, it was also a matter of "comparing apples with oranges", which, as we all know, is supposed to be almost impossible. So we had noted many good works on our slips of paper during the tour, all of which would have deserved a prize, and so we had to use parameters to make decisions.
One of these parameters for us was a good idea that plays with the theme of change?! but at the same time remains open enough to be able to change perspectives.
