Finissage and videos: A relaxed way to experience art

Bright sunshine, impressive performances and a large number of enthusiastic guests: the performance weekend of the international wind art festival ‘bewegter wind’ attracted visitors from near and far to Zierenberg on 24 August 2025. Around the Zierenberger Warte, performances, guided tours and almost 70 exhibits in the landscape as well as new videos invited visitors to engage in intensive dialogue.

After the first week of the wind art festival, curator Reta Reinl drew a positive conclusion: ‘The response has been fantastic – since the opening day on 17 August, we have welcomed a large number of visitors every day, who have walked through the landscape with an open mind and discovered art and exciting new perspectives,’ she summed up with satisfaction. She added: "That is precisely our aim: wind art changes the way we see the landscape, makes the familiar visible in a new way and provides fresh food for thought. We are also particularly pleased with the high level of media attention that has taken up the theme of “fresh” in all its diversity. Our festival thrives on inviting people to marvel and reflect – and this has been achieved in an impressive way in this first week. We are now looking forward

Wind landscapes in video

GPS wind maps, cloud formations, Icelandic snapshots, Japanese street scenes, blossoms, transformations and rubbish bag dialogues. The artists are Estela Garcia, Giorgio Gerardi, Beate Gördes, Kailum Graves, Frauke Hänke, Lioba Müller, Irena Paskali, Marie-Andree Pellerin, Esther Polak and Ivar van Bekkum.

Meetings on the mountain – until 31 August!

The wind art festival ‘bewegter wind’ continues: until 31 August 2025, visitors can experience around 70 installations, objects and videos on the three-kilometre circular trail around the Zierenberger Warte. Admission is free.

Whether as a walk with the family and a picnic, an inspiring encounter with international art or a place for good conversation – the exhibition invites visitors to discover art in the midst of nature every day.

Award ceremony on Sunday

On Sunday, 31 August 2025, at 5 p.m., the organisers invite you to the award ceremony on the lawn below the lookout tower. The jury, consisting of Simone Maria Dietz (art historian), Jürgen Heinz (artist and 2021 award winner) and Britta Ischka (artist), deliberated for almost two days and selected the winners of this year's bewegter wind. With so much artistic diversity, it was a long process. A total of € 7,000 in prize money will be awarded. Together with District Administrator Andreas Siebert, curator Reta Reinl will present the prizes and read out the jury's reasons.
